This week's assignment dives us into the adventures of vector graphics. I was so surprised that the different fonts found on your computer are actually manipulations of text using vector graphics. I especially love that fact because I love scrolling through the different fonts and seeing how they change the text. I created two original logos for this week's assignment. My first logo is of a bi-colored snowflake because my blog theme is, not to be conceded but, all about me. It's all about making the blog experience personal and letting viewers know there is a real person behind each post. I used a snowflake because no two are alike and neither are people. I used the box tool to create the snowflake because I wanted my first logo to be created and not precipitated shapes. My second logo utilized the shapes that Method Draw provided. I aimed towards something more anti-bullying. There are so many people who attack others online or through technology because there isn't face to face confrontation. 'Write It Right' is about taking away all of the wrong ways to address someone online. If you must address an issue online, make it private, reasonable, and right. I used a pencil shape along with a pen shaped shadow because even though people don't think what they put online is permanent, it is. I really enjoyed manipulating the shapes to get the desired look. Pictures exceed at describing something that is too indescribable for words. Of course there are ways words can shed light onto subjects but a picture has a certain way with creating a physical connection to the subject matter. It is easy to say that Alice fell down a rabbit hole filled with a list of things with a list of colors. A step further, a picture can show how Alice LOOKED as she fell instead of how she felt while falling. Words are great but a picture adds a new perspective.
