I am very pleased to say that I finished my plant life cycle piece. It occurred to me that I find it very hard to remember that this course is meant to incorporate multiple medias in a work of art. I am so used to having to use one specific medium to create. My professor had to ask me how I was going to make my plant life cycle a mixed medium piece. It took me aback that I didn't know what I was going to do. In the end, I was able to apply colored pencil to the acrylic paint I had already applied. It fortunately worked out because the colored pencil was able to give me the detail that I couldn't get with the acrylic paint. Pictures exceed at describing something that is too indescribable for words. Of course there are ways words can shed light onto subjects but a picture has a certain way with creating a physical connection to the subject matter. It is easy to say that Alice fell down a rabbit hole filled with a list of things with a list of colors. A step further, a picture can show how Alice LOOKED as she fell instead of how she felt while falling. Words are great but a picture adds a new perspective.

2D Methods- At Home Progress
